Being busy, getting messy and talking to myself!

My oh my I have had a very busy day.  I love working from home but boy can it create some mess.  I've been cutting my pictures to size and securing them onto their mounts which was quite fun, but I did get in a bit of a two and eight. I didn't realise how much of a mess I was in until I left my workroom and re-entered it a few moments later. It was as if I had been burgled!

(By the way, that's a cutting knife above - not a syringe!)

You know how they say, that the first sign of madness is talking to yourself? well, I did more then talk to myself today, I had a full on conversation with 'Ringo' (one of my characters) whilst cutting it to size.
I found myself saying things like, 'Oh look at your funny little face' and ' been up to mischief today have we?' in between giggles!!  I have to admit I was a little worried, but then I suddenly realised that I had got so caught up in cutting and taping and painting that I had not eaten or drunk anything for the whole entire day (I have convinced myself that this was the cause of me giggling away with Ringo and not because I have finally gone bonkers!)

Here's Naughty Ringo...

Oh and if my day wasn't exciting enough I went and bought myself a new lamp...

Isn't it lovely??  Right, that's me done for today, I'm off to make some dinner...x

Room Of The Week

A lot of people say that the colour blue is a cold colour to use when it comes to decorating. I disagree. I think in the right setting with the right furniture the colour blue can be very warm and inviting. I don't have just one room of the week today,  I have three!

I would be quite happy to live in any of the above rooms and to have a constant supply of those gorgeous blue hydrangeas pictured in the last photo thank you very much!

Finish Signs...tick

Happy Sunday everyone. I spent most of the morning finishing reading my book, 'Sing You Home' by Jodi Piccoult.  I was only going to read one chapter but ended up finishing the book! Anyway I was working very hard yesterday so I'm not feeling too guilty.
So, I  have just finished my signs for the market. I had to go and buy some blackboard paint as I wanted to be able to change prices if I need to without having to make new ones. Its been such lovely weather that I finished them off outside on our deck, being observed by our new lodger 'Hunter Moon' the neighbours boisterous cat!

Here they are just drying outside..
(I have to say there is something very therapeutic about painting in solid black)

And here is Hunter Moon enjoying the sun and our lovely view...

Right, I'm off to finish a dog's bed that I started yesterday ( I'm loving the fabrics I have used for this one)

Until next time x

Back to Blogging

So, it's been a long while since my last post.
My very, very, very late New Years Resolution is to blog more frequently, starting from now... In my defence I have been very busy. I am going to be doing a market stall in the next few weeks so I have been painting and sewing and getting up to all sorts.
I was thinking of an attractive way to display prices for my cushions when I spotted these plain placemats. So here's what I have come up with...
I gave the placemat 2 coats of white paint...
and then hand painted some flowers in pinks and red, getting inspiration from an old tablecloth that I bought from a second-hand shop a few weeks ago...
I added some leaves and have started to add the text...
I love how the sign has turned out, and will hopefully have it finished by tomorrow...
