Little Witch

Here is a pencil drawing I did a while back...whenever I start to sketch I nearly ALWAYS end up with a Witch or two...or three!

Room Of The Week

I found this photo and it had to be my room of the week.  I Love it. I'm not normally a lover of green, but I love this wallpaper. It looks so lovely and fresh next to the gorgeous white bedding.

I'm going to be on the lookout now for some wallpaper just like it...

'Let Down Your Hair'

So, here is my latest painting.

It all started with a sketch...originally I did a smaller sketch of just the little girl in the tower which I was going to use to print onto bookmarks, but I liked the look of it and thought it would be nice as a painting.

Rain, Rain Go Away...

What a day.... it's grey, dark, wet and windy!! I had to put all the lights on in the house this morning. Thought I would find a  nice image of somewhere I'd rather be.....

That's better!  now how about a nice cup of tea?

Where To Start?

Lots of people ask me where I start when it comes to my paintings. The truth is, I don't have any particular routine.  I thought I would post some photos of the stages.  So, here is a painting that I have just finished. I am going to sell limited edition prints of this.... It's one of my favourites!

So, I start with my sketch and trace it onto watercolour paper...

I started with the background with this painting and then started to fill in some of the detail...

Cushions Anyone?

I've already mentioned my new found love for Dotty the sewing machine so thought I'd better post a photo of some of our handywork together.  Here are just a handful of vintage style cushions that we have made.  I'm going to start selling these soon... watch this space!

For Little Rose

So, last Saturday was a very important day for my gorgeous little niece Rose. She was moving into her own bedroom. So, I decided to make a few things for her. I painted a picture for the wall, a lovely fairy garden scene in nice green, pink & peach tones. This painting was quite detailed so it did take me a little while to finish.  I then made her a lovely little pillow for her cot and some matching bunting... Here are a couple of photos (the close-up of the painting looks a little dark in this photo...it's lighter in the flesh!)

I think Rose was pleased with the result!

Room Of The Week

This is my room of the week.  I love all the different colours and fabrics and the mismatched furniture. I'd love to crawl into this cosy warm bed with a nice hot cup of tea and one of my favourite books.

Who knew?

So, I have recently re-bonded with 'Dotty',  my Sewing Machine...  I Love her (I will post a photo of Dotty soon)  I've been on a bit of a sewing bender since we have been reunited.  I was thinking about what to do with all the scrap bits of fabric left over from my projects and came up with the idea of making pin cushions. So I went and googled images to get some inspiration and could not believe my eyes. Who knew Pin cushions could be so lovely??  I'm attaching a few images to share with you. I'll post some photos of my attempts once I've made them. Enjoy!
